Welcome to my little world!

I invite you to step inside and take a little peek into what makes me tick. This site will continue to grow, so I encourage you to return every now and then to see what else I've chosen to let you know about me.

The last time I updated my Web site was waaaaay back in 1999. Since then, many things have happened: we've entered a new millennium, many dot-com companies have gone bust, and a new world order set in.

As for my Web site, gone are the days of cheesy colors, bad icons, non-Web friendly frames and a total rip-off of a popular operating system. Instead, it's in with the new: clean design, simple navigation, and more focus on content than applying-the-new-Internet-goodie-of-the-moment.

Content. If there was one thing lacking in my old Web site, it was content. If Web sites are supposed to give you a glimpse into the Webmaster's head, then I hope the four main sections listed in the sidebar do that job. In addition, I've brought some of my very own creations to the forefront.

Now you're probably wondering: why the name "yhWOW"? The simple answer is: if my life goes according to plan, my personal Web site won't just be a personal Web site, but a portal into something bigger and greater. That's when a brand becomes useful, so I figure I might as well kick it off here while the site is in its infancy. As brands go, yhWOW will be used to tie in all of my "properties" for easy identification.

Okay, I've rambled on long enough. Enjoy my site and drop me a comment or two.

To get rid of banner and pop-open ads

If you're comfortable installing new software and fiddling with settings, do this:

1. Download the latest version of Mozilla and install it.
2. Once installation is complete, start it.
3. To stop pop-open windows:
   1. Go to Edit > Preferences (on Windows) or Mozilla > Preferences (on Mac OS X).
   2. In the left pane, click the arrow next to Advanced, then Scripts & Plugins.
   3. In the right pane, you can either uncheck Navigator to disable all scripts or uncheck Open unrequested windows in the list box.
   4. Press Ok.
4. To stop banner ads:
   1. In the browser window, when you see a banner ad, right-click (on Windows) or Ctrl-click (on Mac OS X) on it.
   2. Choose Block images from this Server.
   3. Reload and the banner ad should not appear. Instead, you'll see an empty space where it should be.
5. If you blocked the wrong image,
   1. Go to Tools > Image Manager > Manage Image Permissions
   2. You can either press Remove All Sites or click on what you think is the incorrect site (usually it shares the same address as the Web site that you're at) and press Remove Site.
